The right ticket for everyone

The local public transport system in North Rhine-Westphalia is made up of eight neighbouring regions served by different operators. In addition to this, there is the NRW-Tarif, which allows you to travel from one region to another throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. Regional travel passes are valid for all local trains (Regional-Express, Regionalbahn and S-Bahn), all trams, U-Bahn/ Stadtbahn services and all buses.

The VRS Carnival Ticket (KarnevalsTicket)

This allows one person to travel as much as they like within the VRS network during the six-day carnival (28/02/ - 05/03/2019) with a single ticket costing 25.90 Euros. The ticket is valid for all forms of local transport throughout the whole VRS network - including travel within the city of Cologne itself (buses, U-Bahn, S-Bahn, trams).

For groups: The SchönerTagTicket NRW for five people

Do you want to travel from Münster to the Penn ball in Aachen? No problem! If your journey takes you right through North Rhine-Westphalia, we recommend the SchönerTagTicket NRW day ticket for five people, which costs Euro 46. The Ticket is valid after 9 a.m. Monday to Friday and all day at the weekend and on public holidays until the last service. Ticketholders can take children under six with them for free.
