Read on to find out all you need to know about tickets. We have also put together some entertaining and useful information about the carnival for you.

The right ticket for everyone

The local public transport system in North Rhine-Westphalia is made up of eight neighbouring regions served by different operators. In addition to this, there is the NRW-Tarif, which allows you to travel from one region to another throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. Regional travel passes are valid for all local trains (Regional-Express, Regionalbahn and S-Bahn), all trams, U-Bahn/ Stadtbahn services and all buses.

The VRS Carnival Ticket (KarnevalsTicket)

This allows one person to travel as much as they like within the VRS network during the six-day carnival (08-13/02/2018) with a single ticket costing Euro24.54. The ticket is valid for all forms of local transport throughout the whole VRS network - including travel within the city of Cologne itself (buses, U-Bahn, S-Bahn, trams).

When is it worth buying the Carnival Ticket (KarnevalsTicket)?

For groups: Day Tickets (TagesTicket) for five people

Valid after 9 a.m. Monday to Friday and all day at the weekend and on public holidays until the last service. Ticketholders can take children under six with them for free. There is also no charge for prams or buggies.
